70. Describe a time when you asked for an extension of time.

I recall a time during my final year of college when I found myself overwhelmed with multiple assignments and exams. One particular instance stands out when I had to ask for an extension of time for a research paper.

It was towards the end of the semester, and I had a research paper due for my sociology class. The assignment required extensive research, data analysis, and critical analysis of sociological theories, which I had underestimated in terms of time needed.

The original deadline was approaching rapidly, and I realized that I wouldn't be able to submit a quality paper within the given timeframe.

Feeling the pressure and recognizing the importance of delivering a well-researched and thoughtful paper, I decided to reach out to my professor to request an extension. I emailed my professor explaining my situation honestly, detailing the challenges I was facing in managing my workload and expressing my commitment to producing a high-quality paper if granted additional time.

Fortunately, my professor was understanding of my circumstances and agreed to grant me an extension of one week. This extra time allowed me to delve deeper into the research, refine my arguments, and ensure that my paper met the required standards of academic excellence.

I needed more time to complete the research paper because I wanted to produce work that truly reflected my understanding of the subject matter and showcased my analytical skills. Rushing through the assignment would have compromised the quality of my work and undermined my academic integrity. By requesting an extension, I was able to prioritize quality over speed and ultimately submit a paper that I was proud of.
