Hobbies
1. What hobbies do you pursue in your free time?
I enjoy gardening, painting landscapes and learning piano during my leisure hours. These creative hobbies relax and rejuvenate me.
2. Have you gained any skills lately? Which ones?
Yes, I have recently learnt English language using online lessons and mobile apps. I can now understand basic phrases and introduce myself.

3. Is there any traditional hobby you are interested in lately?
Yes, the lockdown piqued my interest in varied art forms. I started learning Madhubani folk art and find the vibrant designs very therapeutic.
4. How do you like to spend your free time with friends?
Friends and I enjoy going out for tea, playing badminton, discussing philosophy and poetry, and checking out new restaurants.
5. Have you made any money from pursuing hobbies? How?
Personally, I haven't really made money from my hobbies, but I've seen how tons of folks have turned what they love doing into a way to earn a living. Moreover, with the internet, it's opened up doors for crafters, cooks, and gamers to sell their stuff online.
6. Do you prefer indoor or outdoor recreational activities? Why?
I generally prefer outdoor activities as I find playing a sport or having a picnic much more refreshing and mood-lifting than watching TV.
7. Which upcoming hobby trend interests the youth nowadays? Why?
Creative hobbies like vlogging, mobile photography, stand-up comedy attract the youth as social media gives visibility allowing building passions into careers.
8. What hobby would you love to start when you retire?
I would love to revive my childhood painting hobby by capturing serene landscapes at all the travel destinations I intend to explore!
9. Do you feel schools should promote hobby clubs more for student wellbeing?
Absolutely! Encouraging hobby clubs in schools can significantly contribute to student wellbeing. These clubs provide a platform for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and form connections with like-minded peers. Engaging in hobbies not only helps students relax and de-stress but also fosters creativity, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment.
10. What hobbies did you pursue since you were a child? How were you first introduced to them?
I played cricket since childhood. My next door neighbor, a former player, taught me the foundations. I also learned classical dance starting age 6 when my mother enrolled me in classes.
11. What traditional arts, dance, or music do you enjoy practicing or observing?
I find serenity and cultural connection through the ancient arts of yoga, henna, classical Bharatanatyam dance, and playing the sitar, which I've practiced since I was a teenager.
12. What hobbies help you connect to your heritage?
Cooking flavorful regional curries, reading works by various authors, studying ancient astronomy and mathematics, collecting silk saris, and contributing to language preservation keep me connected to my roots.
