The line graph illustrates the number of tourists visiting a Caribbean island from 2010 to 2017, with a specific focus on those arriving via cruise ships and those staying on the island.

In the period shown, there was a noticeable increase in total visitors to the island. In 2010, just over one million tourists visited the island, which surged to nearly four million by 2017. This growth can be attributed primarily to the rise in visitors arriving by cruise ships. In 2010, approximately one million tourists arrived via this mode of transport; however, this figure had tripled by 2017.

Conversely, there was a slight decline in the number of visitors choosing to stay on the island. Starting at just over one million in 2010, this figure dipped slightly in subsequent years before plateauing at around one million from 2014 onwards.

In summary, while total tourism figures for the Caribbean island showed significant growth due to an influx of cruise ship passengers, there was no corresponding increase in those opting for extended stays on the island.
