IELTS Writing Task 1

The two maps illustrate the changes in the road layout around the city hospital between 2007 and 2010. The main differences are the introduction of a roundabout, the separation of the car park, and the expansion of the bus station.

In 2007, the city hospital was accessible from both Ring Road and City Road. There was a single car park for staff and public next to the hospital. A bus stop was located on Ring Road, north of the hospital.

In 2010, a roundabout was built on Ring Road, which improved the traffic flow and reduced congestion. The car park was divided into two separate areas: one for the public on the north side and one for the staff on the south side. A bus station was also constructed between the two car parks, providing more convenient and frequent public transport services.

In 2007, the city hospital could be reached from both Ring Road and City Road. There was a combined car park for staff and public adjacent to the hospital building. A bus stop was also present along Ring Road, offering limited public transport facilities.

By contrast, in 2010, a roundabout was installed on Ring Road, facilitating smoother traffic management. The previously combined parking space was now split into two distinct zones, catering specifically to either public or staff, ensuring organized parking arrangements. Moreover, an enhancement in public transport facilities was marked by the establishment of a dedicated bus station, centrally located, providing easy access from all directions.
