IELTS Writing Task 1

The maps illustrate the changes that have occurred in a university campus from 2010 to the present day. It is evident that the campus has undergone significant development and expansion, with new buildings and facilities being added.

In 2010, the campus consisted of four main buildings: the library, the lecture hall, the administration building, and the student union. There was also a car park and a sports field on the north and south sides of the campus respectively.

By the present day, the campus has transformed considerably. The library has been extended to the east, while the lecture hall has been replaced by a new science building. The administration building has also been renovated and enlarged. A new arts building has been constructed on the west side of the campus, adjacent to the student union. The car park has been relocated to the south-east corner of the campus, while the sports field has been divided into two sections: a football pitch and a tennis court.

The maps clearly show the improvements that have been made to the university campus over a 10-year period, highlighting the increase in academic and recreational facilities.
