The pie charts illustrate the variation in devices utilized by Canadians aged 18 to 25 for watching television in 2009 and 2019. A noticeable transformation is evident over the decade, marked by a significant shift towards mobile phones and a decline in the use of conventional TVs.

In 2009, desktop computers were the predominant medium, accounting for 34% of usage. Mobile phones constituted a smaller fraction at 8%. Conventional TVs and laptops were fairly comparable at around one-fifth each. Tablets and flat-screen TVs had minimal representation.

Fast forward to 2019, mobile phones surged to become the most popular device at an impressive 49%, indicating technological advancements and changing preferences. Desktop computers plummeted to just a quarter of their previous dominance at 12%. The use of tablets saw an uptick, capturing a respectable portion of 19%. Interestingly, conventional TV maintained its ground relatively well with only a slight decrease.

The pie charts clearly show the changes in the devices used by young Canadians for watching television over a 10-year period, highlighting the improvement in mobile technology and the decline in desktop computers.

The provided pie charts compare the devices used by people aged between 18-25 years old in Canada for watching television across two distinct years – 2009 and 2019. It is striking that while diverse platforms were used more evenly in earlier years, mobile phones have emerged as the unequivocal leader by the end of this period.

A decade ago, desktop computers held sway with over one-third usage rate among viewers aged between 18-25 years old. Mobile phones were then only beginning to make their mark with an insignificant share of merely 8%. However, by 2019 this figure had skyrocketed six-fold making mobiles the most preferred device for nearly half of young viewers.

Conversely, desktops witnessed a dramatic slump from being dominant to marginalised; their share dwindling down to just 12% - almost one-third their former glory. Traditional televisions also experienced decline but managed to retain relevance unlike flat-screen TVs which became virtually obsolete.

The pie charts effectively illustrate the differences in the devices used by young Canadians for watching television over a 10-year period, with mobile phones being the most common choice and desktop computers being the least popular.
